We’ve all heard the saying “you are what you eat.” As an experienced, registered dietitian, I take that saying one step further and add “what you eat affects what you can do.” Because it’s true. Not only does what we eat affect our body composition, but food is our fuel and how we perform — what we can do — is directly related to what we put into our bodies.
Whether you’re an athlete competing at a high level, a weekend warrior or someone who just wants to get and stay healthy so you can enjoy life, I can work with you to create a personalized nutrition program that will help you achieve your personal, physical and performance goals. What’s more, I can help you gain a deep understanding of nutrition that can set you up for a lifetime of optimal, nutrition-based health.
As a registered dietitian, I help athletes and active individuals reach their ultimate health and performance goals through food. My passion for nutrition stemmed from my own battle with an autoimmune disease, which taught me that the food I put into my body impacted my daily energy levels, mood and overall well-being. My journey to health through nutrition has had even greater implications for everything I do: my drive, confidence, passions and surrounding environment.
Have you ever thought to yourself, “I know I should eat this, but….” You might even say it to yourself every day. I did at one point. So frequently we know what we should do, but we still don’t do it. We haven’t learned to separate emotion from logic when it comes to nutrition and truly use food as a tool. By working with me, you’ll learn exactly how to put your knowledge into practice and listen to what your body needs. Why does this matter for athletes? That’s simple: nutrition is perhaps the greatest factor in the long-term success as an athlete. One common theme I saw working in collegiate athletics was that the athletes who learned how to master nutrition saw the most improvement in all aspects of their sport. From one-on-one coaching to teamwide nutrition implementation, my goal is to help all athletes reach the next level.
Sports are getting more competitive every day. The good news is proper nutrition can help you stay one step ahead of your opponent. Not only will it impact your performance metrics, but proper nutrition will also affect your sleep, attitude, focus in the classroom or at work and help you get the most out of your training.
Customized nutrition services can help your athletes excel and win in their sports, schoolwork and personal life. Have a vision for performance nutrition within your program? Let me help you bring it to life.
Food doesn't just affect the number on the scale. It has the power to fuel us in all the right ways, and it can even make us sick.
Through healthy lifestyle coaching, you’ll learn to ditch diets once-and-for-all and adopt a whole-foods approach. You’ll notice positive changes in your sleep, mood and motivation and you’ll have more energy to do the things you love.
Our work together starts with a nutrition intake and analysis and also an in-depth discussion about any issues you are having, your current daily habits, what you want to achieve and what your time frame is. If you need lab work, we’ll discuss and coordinate that as well.
We’ll explore your strengths and weaknesses, and how you want to work together, as in schedules, timing and remote versus in-person. My main goal in this first session is to get a better understanding of you and your goals and to meet you where you are right now.
Together we will create an individualized game plan for your nutrition, supplements, activity and more to help you reach your long-term goals a little bit each day.
You'll have access to an online portal where you can communicate with me and easily track things like food, sleep and energy levels. We'll set up a time to chat weekly, and I'm always on call for questions and support.
First and foremost, after working together, you will have accomplished or be on your way to accomplishing your primary goals, such as weight loss, weight gain, muscle gain, performance improvement, better sleep and more.
But beyond that, you will gain a deep, life-changing understanding of your body, nutrition and overall wellness. You will look at health from a whole-body, whole-food perspective that can help you look forward to a lifetime of good habits and health. You’ll also gain confidence in your ability to make smart lifestyle choices for the rest of your life.
In most cases, accomplishing a life goal isn't easy. But it will be fun, we will celebrate successes, and it will change your life.
All change starts with a first step. That step then becomes a habit and that habit turns into a lifestyle. So take that all-important first step today. Reach out. Get in touch. And let’s get started creating the best version of you.
